The Clive Motorcycle Club is a friendly club based in Welshpool, Powys, run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. We cater for all interests from classic to modern, trials to road riding. The Club meets once a month at the Cock Hotel, Forden. Club nights can be informal evenings where members chat or discuss club business to more formal events with speakers. Members have recently been informed and entertained by Karl, Steve and Nick who talked about their experience at Speed Week, Bonneville where they set a number of records on a pair of BSA’s.

Four times a year, the club organises trials which are held at various locations around the Welshpool area. The trials test the skills of beginner to expert alike and give other members the chance to become involved by “observing”, which is a very necessary part of the event.

Another important event in the Club’s calendar is the Welsh National Rally; this event was created by club member Dave Dowling in 1994. This is a road rally for riders and drivers on two or three wheels and is the first round of the Three Nations Award. The Rally involves plotting a route through the mountains & valleys of Wales. It requires some navigational skills, mental dexterity and observational ability but above all, it is designed to be an enjoyable event for all entrants.

The event takes place in May each year and is open to all road-registered motorcycles, quads and three wheelers. The Rally involves riders visiting manned and unmanned control points throughout Wales. Entrants in previous years have completed the event on a wide range of motorcycles and three wheelers, from the 1950’s to modern machines. The Clive Motorcycle Club would be pleased to see as many riders as possible attend the event and obtain one of the awards on offer. Breakfast and hot drinks are available at the start in Castle Caereinion and hot meals and rest facilities are also available at the finish (Castle Caereinion). In 2014, all entrants were entered into a free prize draw courtesy of Metzeler Tyres.

Another popular event is the Classic and Photo Run. These two events take place on the same day and give riders of both classic and modern machines the chance to have a good ride out with friends in a beautiful part of Wales.
